Lydia Benecke

Lydia Benecke, born in November 1982 in Poland, studied psychology, psychopathology and forensic science at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Since 2009 she has worked as a psychologist with main focus in the field of violence and sexual offenses. She works in a clinic for sex offenders with adult sexual and violent offenders.

Her scientific work priorities and areas of interest are in the areas different sexual preference (Paraphilias, particularly sexual sadism and pedophilia), personality disorders (mainly from the "Cluster B range", narcissistic, histrionic, antisocial and emotionally-unstable personality types as well as the scientific construct of psychopathy), trauma disorders, superstitious beliefs, Subcultures (Especially BDSM scene, Dark Scene, Vampire subculture) and sects.

As an author she wrote forensic psychological books ("On Thin Ice - The psychology of evil." And "Sadists - Deadly Love. Stories from real life") as well as articles, and since 2010 psychological column "Psychokiste" in Germany's largest BDSM Magazine "Schlagzeilen".

She is self-employed as tutor, consultant and forensic psychological consultant.

Since 2015 she is a member of the Scientific Council of the "Society for the Scientific Investigation of Para Sciences".
